Over the years, I've collected (nearly) everything that Hutcherson ever recorded -- both as a leader and sideman -- across his entire career. For me, Medina was the first Hutcherson album that blew my mind & made me want to hear all of his music. And it just so happens that I'm now listening to . . . Medina. Reggie Jonson an unsung heroe .... Quote

I have the Drum Ode and the 1975 thing from Uncle Poe, but else I think whent out a print very early. Oh I have another one that is just Lieb, Frank Gambala and Hamid Drake, that´s great !!!! But I wanted the stuff with Ife, I mean the contemporanious Ife not the one from 1974, but found out that it is only on some electronic source, not CD, now ain´t that a shit ? Well during that time I was busy learning to play bop so all I had on Steeplechase was some of the Dexter Radioland sessions, the Bud from Golden Circle and I think two from Brew Moore, who -though quite obscure- I have a weakness for him..... mjazzg Posted December 18, 2024 Report Posted December 18, 2024 (edited) Gruppe Nuova Consonanza - Improvisationen [Deutsche Grammophon, Germany 1969] Jan Garbarek Quartet - Afric Pepperbird [ECM, Germany 1970 RE] The first two from today's delivery. Interestingly the first track on the Garbarek could almost appear on the Gruppe, if you stretch a bit. Maybe unsurprisingly given the provenance, both LPs sound and recording quality is magnificent Edited December 18, 2024 by mjazzg Quote
mjazzg Posted December 18, 2024 Report Posted December 18, 2024 Gaetano Liguori Collective Orchestra - s/t [PDU, Italy 1976] thsi fair barrels along never gone right out but always flirting with it. I love it when a punt comes off Quote
mjazzg Posted December 18, 2024 Report Posted December 18, 2024 Charles Tyler - Saga Of The Outlaws [Nessa Records, USA 1978] thanks to @Pim I'm reacquainting myself with this gem. A disadvantage of having lots of music is some very good stuff doesn't get played for a long time. Quote
