The only issues I hear with the sound are due to it being a live recording - the drums and more so the bass is not so audible at times when the horns are in focus. Horns and vibes are crystal clear and foregrounded. Bass solo on side 1 is definitely quiet in comparison but still pretty comfortably audible and has clarity. Main issues I'd say are with balance between front line and rhythm section in ensemble parts. Thank you for prompting this listen, it's a marvellous album.
