Teasing the Korean
Joao Gilberto - Amoroso (WB, 1977) With the great Claus Ogerman. The version of "Besame Mucho" on here is unbelievable.

Teasing the Korean
Jim Helms - Bossa Nova (Crown, stereo) With Howard Roberts and Buddy Collette. The LP consists of all originals by Helms, who went on to score Kung Fu in the 1970s. Later reissued by Crown under Collette's name, with two additional tracks, probably not from these sessions. kh1958
Junior Wells & Buddy Guy, Live at the Newport Folk Festival 1968 (Cleopatra Blues) If you are a fan of the Delmark classic Hoodoo Man Blues, this is insanely good (well recorded and licensed from the Junior Wells estate), with Fred Below, Jack Myers and A.C. Reed. Edited May 27 by kh1958

Glad to hear that. And I like your musical tastes, it is more demanding music. I like straight ahead as well and have to play some of it to make money, but I had heard the kind of "jazz" that I can´t play, before I started to perform ( I mean pianoless "new thing" stuff, let´s say 2 horns, bass and drums, or just a trio of horn, bass and drums) so I was not so much receptive for the typical 50´s mainstream many folks like to hear,,,,, Edited May 29 by Gheorghe

Truth be told that I am feeling a little guilty that I haven't been spinning the free-er stuff recently. I used to play it whilst looking after the kids in the mornings when they were small but nowadays they have stronger opinions about what they want to listen to. I see, but as much as I like so much stuff, I just can´t listen to it in the morning. I´m a night type of guy and when I get up I need a breath of fresh air, some motion , then a coffee, a slice of butter-cake , a cigarette and absolute silence. I get more active in the evening...... And at home I listen to music with headphones, since I need it loud and my wife would here it even if she goes into one of the rooms downstairs. Now I can spin it the way I need to hear it full and don´t disturb her with "my stuff". 😄
