Harace Silver with IMO the best group he ever had

Blue Note 84042 - Horace Silver " Horace-Scope" - rec. 1960 - Engineer: Rudy Van Gelder

That "Strollin´" is one of my favourite Horace Silver compositions and a beautiful thing to open a set. So comfortable to play, ....... just "strollin´...." .
On the other hand it´s always a bit hard for me to remember more tunes on an album since Horace made so many of them and mostly I remember important tunes which we work out on one or another occasion:

"No Smokin´" is a favourite of mine since it is so brisc so quick, and often someone calls "Nica´s Dream" of course...

John Coltrane "Ballads" Acoustic Sound Series Impulse LP

This sounds great. The Japanese SHM-SACD released this year seems to share this mastering.

Bought for "Free" and ten dollars shipping from The Sound of Vinyl.

Listening to this now on YouTube. Nice. I've never seen this LP "in the wild" and it's only been on CD on the bootleg Lonehill label, who I don't support, so I guess if I want to play it at home, I'll need to pick up an original LP.

Do you know the story on it taking 10 years to see release?

No it is not. Universal Japan has initiated an SHM-SACD series using these analog masters as the source.

Today's purchase, Japanese Edition. Came with a nice letter from Billy intending to explain the music - presumably to one of his students. Unexpected find !

need to get this on LP one of these days. Reminds me so much of Masayuki Takayanagi.
