Teasing the Korean Posted September 5, 2023 Report Posted September 5, 2023 (edited) Stan Getz - Dynasty (Verve, double LP, stereo) Stan with an organ groove trio. Who knew? EDIT: This sounds like a 70s Italian horror soundtrack in places. Which is a supreme compliment coming from TTK! Edited September 5, 2023 by Teasing the Korean Quote

HutchFan Posted September 5, 2023 Report Posted September 5, 2023 (edited) and Re: the post above: Dynasty is one helluva record from beginning to end. @Teasing the Korean -- You've heard Getz's collaboration with Michel Legrand, Communications '72, right? It came out around the same time, and it also features Eddy Louiss. (Plus the Swingle Singers.) . . . I'm sure there are plenty of listeners who think it's a terrible album -- but I think it's wonderful. Communications '72 also features one of my all-time favorite covers: painting by Raymond Moretti Edited September 5, 2023 by HutchFan Quote

I must admit I never quite got the intention without the comma but also never tried to hard: Were they trying to say "Next we present jazz ramwong" (as in "chicken teriyaki" or "jazz samba") or is the "now" a qualification of jazz like in TTK's "now sound"... The comma makes it clear that it's the former... (see also Ramwong) Quote
