Right now I am enjoying Miles Davis - Oleo (Prestige).

This was a 1971 LP which combined two of my favorite Miles Prestige sessions: the 1954 Oleo date and the 1956 Vierd Blues date.

Phoney stereo?

Yes.

Last night and today:

Richard "Groove" Holmes - The Groover (Prestige).

Nucleus - Direct Hits (Vertigo). (A Best of compilation. What a collection of all-stars!)

Isotope - Illusion (Gull). (1975 Hugh Hopper band.)

Hugh Hopper - Hoppertunity Box (Compendium). (1976, with the usual suspects.)

Some Sonny Stitt LPs this evening

Eddie "Lockaw" Davis - Hey Lock! - UK Vogue double (side 1 is Jaws' first organ/tenor recordings from 1951; the rest is the 1954 Birdland session with Stitt - burning! Doc Bagby may not be the greatest organist ever, but he sure as hell swang that night!)

Sonny Stitt - Soul girl - Paula (orig)

Sonny Stitt - I remember Bird - Catalyst (orig)

Just changed LPs,

This time 'round: MONSTERDUDES split With Pussey Guts.

Mos Def not Jazz, but fun stuff. Vocalist is 14 years old (Monsterdudes), with a great organ!!!

This is Vinyl only, limited to 500 copies worldwide.

Very fun stuff for those that don't have there head's firmly up there arse.
