I bought that in the ‘80s, still sounding good, probably better than any originals.  It’s a great compilation, well mastered.

I think it’s terrific. Highly recommended.

Wish to hell this had also been on CD. :(

Except for the lack of it being released on CD.

You're right .... but in this case it was inevitable "to bite into the sour apple" ....

Lennie Tristano: Lennie Tristano. Heart Note Records HN-001 [Sweden 1987]

😁👍

Never have seen  this one. I'm also a fan of Tristano. The Capitol on Jazz Classics series is also good plus all the Atlantics.

Chet Baker, Jim Hall, Hubert Laws ao - Studio Trieste [CTI/Polydor UK, 1982]

One of today's arrivals, I don't often find myself in CTI-land but this was recommended and was cheap.

Paco de Lucia - Almoraima (Philips, 1976)

Such a fantastic album!  So many disparate things converging to make a unique stew -- just like the country of Spain itself.

Next new arrival

The Quartette Tres Bien - Our Thing [Decca, 1967]

Another cheapie, vinyl in lovely condition. My first exposure to QTB.

I can't help but wonder whether they feature at @Teasing the KoreanMansions sometimes.

There's a Twitter account I follow where the poster is a big fan. Not so much my thing. Mod type stuff.

A lot of their stuff is on those Rhythm & Blues label 60s Jazz compilations. On the US material disks within those sets.

I had one of those back in 1968. Itched like hell. 😂

I could have appeared on a Liberty Blue Note cover (for kids) !

I have two of their albums!  A variation on the ubiquitous 1950s-60s piano trio format by adding bongos.  I would have all of them if I can find them, but that is a topic for another thread.  (Don't miss my upcoming Decca thread!)

Dollar Brand / Abdullah Ibrahim - Tintinyana (Kaz Records UK, 1988)
"The African Recordings" series, Volume 3

I've never got my head around that series of comps. Mind you, I haven't tried that hard. Are there complete albums represented or a number of albums chopped across the reissues?

They always look tempting and you see them about quite a bit I think
