Parkertown Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Dizzy Reece - Star Bright - Classic Records 200gm Mono Quote
Parkertown Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 Just finished spinnin': Doug Watkins - Watkins At Large - Classic 200gm. This and the previous one just arrived this morning. I couldn't resist them when I got the email from True Blue saying they were on sale. $25 each. $5 shipping. I ordered them Monday morning and got them this morning. Incredible! And they're really quite nice. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I have a mono UA-era blue and white of the Reece, which sounds okay, and a Toshiba of the Watkins (courtesy Allan Songer) that sounds excellent. Wouldn't mind at least a King mono of the Reece, but I can live for now... Quote

clifford_thornton Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 Gunnar Lindqvist G.L. Unit - Orangutang! - (EMI Odeon Swedish original) Don Cherry meets the Brotherhood of Breath in a very disjointed but supremely heavy session. Maffay Falay, Sven-Ake Johansson, Bernt Rosengren, Bengt Frippe Nordstrom, and Bengt Berger are among the cast of thousands... Quote
clifford_thornton Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 Sven-Ake Johansson - Schlingerland - (SAJ original) a solo percussion record that really gets into yr skull. Sometimes I wonder if he's got tape-delay going on, or if he just plays that way... Quote
