Is this one as good?

Perhaps not quite but still worth your attention I'd suggest

Daniel Villarreal - Panama 77 [International anthem, US 2022]

one of this year's best for me, so far

I hadn't even seen this one. Time was, every new IA release got huge publicity on social media. Will check it out.

Yazz Ahmed ‘Polyhymnia’ on Ropeadope (2LPs). Bought from Yazz at the weekend and she has kindly signed it.

A tribute track to Barbara Thompson (RIP) included, as one of the heroes featured.

Trunk reissue of the Stan Butcher LP from 1979 originally issued on Monty Babson’s ‘Hobo’ label and sunk without trace back then. Barbara Thompson prominently featured in the lineup.

I liked this one a lot more than her first.

Nice record

It is, isn't it? So many great players on it.  Nick Evans is really standing out on this listen.  The notes say that the selections are taken from 2.5 hours of playing, that would've been some gig

Now on my 'table:

ODUtNDk0Mi5qcGVn.jpeg

Nancy Harrow with Sir Roland Hanna & Special Guest Bob Brookmeyer - You're Nearer (Tono, 1986)
with Ray Drummond & Terri Lyne Carrington

First listen.  I really like Harrow's singing.  Her voice isn't particularly impressive -- but it's quirky and personal.  At times, she reminds me of Mildred Bailey.  They both have a similar sort of vulnerability.

Arrived back home earlier this afternoon.  Nice to be able to spin vinyl again.  :)
