I had to choose Jackie McLean on that occasion as a more demanding music. But on other occasions it was nice to hear this quartet, only that Herman Foster overdoes it a bit with his heavy chords. You hear it too often. Later he went back to have an organ in his group.... Quote

The first record I played was Clare Fischer's excellent debut on Pacific Jazz, 'First Time Out' on a hyper-quiet Toshiba pressing. I espescially like the interplay with Gary Peacock. Quote
