The Tone Poet All Seeing Eye sounds fabulous; much better than my blue 1970s era pressing.

Let me know if you think I was too negative.

Found an original pressing of Got a Good Thing Goin' in the cut-out bin of a department store back in the 1970s.

Friedholm Schönfeld - s/t [Amiga, GDR 1978]

First listen, interesting

found the other Schoenfeld (split) LP earlier today and have it lined up for later this evening...

Houston Person - Stolen Sweets

now playing another of today's acquisitions... the cover is, well, very much of its time but with an organ band built around Sonny Philipps and Jimmy Ponder what could go wrong I thought...

Bought mine new in '68 (licks thumb & wipes on shirt).

Yep.  :-)  I bet it was a funny joke!

I thought it was unwontedly artificial. Its redeeming feature, for me, is that Roland Prince wasn't obeying the photographer's orders.

I really enjoyed this one, after streaming it following a recent mention in a thread around here somewhere.

Now spinning on my 'table:

Carmen McRae Sings "Lover Man" and Other Billie Holiday Classics (Columbia, rec. 1961)
Jazz Odyssey Series reissue

Carmen is such an expressive, magnificent singer.  In my book, she's one of the greats.
