In contrast, I enjoyed it. Maybe Wild Bill isn’t to everyone’s taste and the playing time is a bit short. UK Verve mono sound quality on my copy is good though.

One of my favourite covers.  I prefer Kloss's organ recordings.  Listening inspired by BFT 210

I have that one on a blue label. Obviously a fan of Harold Wilson.

1981 Liberty reissue with a sorta generic cover

 

There was a mini-"series" of those in 1981, under Capitol...Gerald Wilson & Buddy Rich I can remember, probably a few others...Jazz Crusaders, maybe? I think the only difference was color scheme, at best.

People who complain about the "generic" Blue Note LT covers have no idea just how generic corporate minds were willing to get...and people who don't realize how close to death Blue Note was, hey, look at this, from 1981:
