I was very disappointed. In contrast, I enjoyed it. Maybe Wild Bill isn’t to everyone’s taste and the playing time is a bit short. UK Verve mono sound quality on my copy is good though. Quote

mjazzg Posted September 8, 2021 Report Posted September 8, 2021 Roy Ayers - Virgo Vibes [Atlantic, 1967 mono] been after a nice copy of this for a while, arrived this morning. Can't help but think that if this had been released on BN it would be much more well known. What a line-up. Quote

HutchFan Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 Now spinning this new-to-me LP: 1981 Liberty reissue with a sorta generic cover Quote
JSngry Posted September 9, 2021 Report Posted September 9, 2021 3 minutes ago, HutchFan said: Now spinning this new-to-me LP: 1981 Liberty reissue with a sorta generic cover There was a mini-"series" of those in 1981, under Capitol...Gerald Wilson & Buddy Rich I can remember, probably a few others...Jazz Crusaders, maybe? I think the only difference was color scheme, at best. People who complain about the "generic" Blue Note LT covers have no idea just how generic corporate minds were willing to get...and people who don't realize how close to death Blue Note was, hey, look at this, from 1981: Quote
