HutchFan
Jimmy Ponder - Down Here on the Ground (Milestone, 1984) Excellent. The photo on the cover is the surface of Mars, taken by Viking 2 in 1976. I think it's hilarious that they added the guitar in the foreground. 2 hours ago, mjazzg said: Andrew Hill - Judgement [Blue Note, Music Matters, 45rpm] sounding great today Terrific! Nice mellow record. This is one of those sessions that I always wanted to buy (on CD) but never got around to.

Cafe Oto stocked them briefly. I only bought this which is excellent, wish I'd bought some others. Will have to make do with downloads

rostasi
Thanks a bunch for that link. Especially excited to see the Banerjee recording. Seeing him live many years ago was a real treat!
rostasi
OK, so I already have that Banerjee recording - just a different cover. Shows how long it's been since I've listened to it, so here I go. Still, the new cover on Old Heaven Books looks nice.

Rabshakeh
Lester Bowie - Rope-A-Dope (Muse, 1976) Stanley Turrentine - Never Let Me Go (Blue Note, 1963) I really think that this is an underrated gem even within Turrentine's and Scott's catalogues. It has such a heavy hit of gospel and blues to it, but, over and above that, the timing is so stretched out. It's amazing.
