Bought on Saturday from Sound records Stroud, Glos. Recommend the shop. Great sounding slab of vinyl. Anthony London I like that record a lot. It’s nice to end a weekend with a record like that. The vibe of the original photograph is amazing. Then the move to the stark pink/white/black colour scheme of the reissue. Gheorghe
I didn´t know Ramsey Lewis played with Max Roach. I only saw him once and I think that was more easy listening Music, as much as I recall…..

Plus, the Blakey LP is an added bonus. 6 hours ago, Gheorghe said: I didn´t know Ramsey Lewis played with Max Roach. But he's in a straight-ahead mode on this Roach date.

HutchFan
Spinning this again: Max Roach / Art Blakey - Percussion Discussion (Chess) Now listening to sides 1 and 2, originally issued as Art Blakey's Tough! (Cadet 4049), as shown below: Recorded in '57 but not released until '66. McLean is clearly the dominant voice. It's always great to hear Jackie -- even if he's a few years from his phenomenal run in the 1960s. Kevin Bresnahan
Curtis Counce - You Get More Bounce With Curtis Counce (Analogue Productions 33 rpm). This is a nice, swinging date that I've always liked. This Analogue Productions LP sounds incredible. Butler's drums sound particularly crisp. They really did a nice job with the tapes.
