You can use it like a weapon to hunt wild animals, mono BN in plastylite can be more deadly then a boomerang. Edited August 18, 2019 by porcy62 Quote

HutchFan Posted August 18, 2019 Report Posted August 18, 2019 Eastern Rebellion 4 (Timeless) Not the usual Eastern Rebellion line-up. On this LP, the quartet is expanded to include "Chocolate" Armenteros & Curtis Fuller. Quote
porcy62 Posted August 18, 2019 Report Posted August 18, 2019 Mono, one of my favourite Trane's classic quartet's record. Quote
JSngry Posted August 18, 2019 Report Posted August 18, 2019 A modern-ish, "Four Brothers" style sax section, really hoary repertoire, dance-band charts try to split the difference (but don't really succeed), and whoever Rosalind Patton was, she sounded pretty good in a very Ginny Powell-ish way. HutchFan Posted August 19, 2019 Report Posted August 19, 2019 Just listened to this LP the other day. Enjoyed it so much that I'm spinning it again. Jay McShann - Kansas City Hustle (Sackville, 1978) Quote

HutchFan Posted August 20, 2019 Report Posted August 20, 2019 Duke Ellington - Unknown Session (Columbia) 1960 septet recordings from the stockpile. ... Another instance of Duke's utterly distinctive, everyday brilliance. Quote
HutchFan Posted August 20, 2019 Report Posted August 20, 2019 Duke Ellington - All Star Road Band (Doctor Jazz, 2 LPs) The full band in flight at an "ordinary" dance gig in Carrolltown, PA, 1957. Quote
Larry Kart Posted August 20, 2019 Report Posted August 20, 2019 Jus about to give it a spin. A Boulez maven tells me that this is by far the best recording of Le Soleil Des Eaux, and I've heard good things about Dorati's Chronochromie and Les Bander-Log. Just hope the used LP is in decent shape. I just bought a used Odyssey LP of works by Maderna snd Schuller, and the surface noise was louder than the admittedly rather quiet music. When I contacted the bastard third-party seller on Amazon, he said, 'Tough s---; we didn't grade it "like new."' Quote
Larry Kart Posted August 21, 2019 Report Posted August 21, 2019 Some of the performances are a bit dated in style (though still good for the most part) but the version of Thomas Tomkins' stunning madrigal "Fusca, in thy starry eyes" is worth many times the $2 I paid for this vintage two-LP set. I am unfamiliar with her ‘schlager’ material/style, it is about as well known here in the UK as TV showings of ‘Dinner For One’ i.e. pretty well unknown. Edited August 21, 2019 by sidewinder Quote
