Doesn’t bug me too much - probably because I am so used to hearing stereo Atlantic and immune to it. Having said that, by far the best ‘Giant Steps’ I have heard is the mono UK first release on the London label. HutchFan
David Friedman & David Samuels - Double Image (Enja) Excellent music. ... Top-shelf sound quality too -- like many Enja LPs from the late-70s and early-80s.

porcy62
Yeah, some BN are like wines, if you bought a case of Chateau Lafite Rotschild before the first WW you were lucky, like the caterer that traded Van Gogh paintings for lunches. Anyway it's part of the fun

I'm holding out as perhaps the only European copy A copy arrived at the Chicago Tribune when I was there; I put it on because I knew of Francis from Ellis' "New Ideas," loved it, and wrote an enthusiastic review. Afterwards I got in touch with Francis by phone, and we had a very pleasant conversation.
paul secor
Not to turn this into a hijacked Al Francis thread, but a bassist friend of mine played with him in Boston some years ago. According to my friend, that night he was playing drums, not vibes.
