Though I must admit I wouldn't pay big money for these (not that they wouldn't be worth it to aficionados, but to me they are more of a "nice to have" side line). I have much of the series. The more I listen to them, the more I enjoy them. I tend to like the compilations more than the single artist LPs. Quote

I'd agree with that assessment -- if only because the music on Castles of Ghana is SO POWERFUL. But the entire series is such a compelling and unique body of work! It's ALL "unmissable" in my book. His own dates seem to be at least as interesting as the ones with Bobby Bradford. Fields and Castles of Ghana are excellent as is the release on No Business. Quote
