This kind of fusion project (backed by a big budget festival) is rarely, if ever, more than the sum of its parts, particularly on record. But I'm probably biased and I'd also like to hear Paul's opinion. Anyway, it might be useful to know that the original LP is still available (Cam Jazz). On one listen only I tend to share your reservations but also look forward to Paul's views. On a similar note, I've often wondered about tis release. Any views anyone? Baraka signed the liner for me when I met him in 2009. His name is spelled Leroy Jones on the back of the CD. He signed the liner Amiri Baraka.
