The Eddie Lockjaw Davis Cookbook, Vol. 2 - Prestige (stereo)

Tadd Dameron - The Magic Touch - Riverside (stereo, OJC reissue).  Does anyone know when this album is from?  My copy doesn't have any dates.  I assume very late 1950s or very early 1960s.

Early 1960s - 1961 I think. Not too long before Dameron passed away.

Nice line up, pity about the cover.

Muse covers really plumbed the depths of poor taste or misogyny on too many occasions.

Someone at Muse was a fan of CTI covers by the look of it. ‘Of their time’.

UK CBS. RIP Reggie Lucas.

Excellent record. Incidentally this UK pressing sounded much better than the '4Menwithbeards' pressing which I subsequently  ditched. The latter sounded quite flat

Yep, my copy remains pretty pristine and bought in 1976 within days of release from the local vinyl store of the time (sadly no longer operating although it lasted until a few years ago). It is still sounding superb. I also have a CBS Sony copy but if anything I prefer the UK version.

The UK issue of ‘Big Fun’ is also very good.

Still house a UK vinyl copy too ....

Beaver Harris 360 Degree Music Experience - In:Sanity [Black Saint]

spinning this for the first time in a long time on the back of comments in the Reissues thread about this band

Don Pullen + Milford Graves -- Nommo -- (SRP, US)

think I appreciate this album more now, listening to it back to back with In Concert at Yale University. There's an interesting flow to the program and they go together better than apart.

Beaver Harris Quartet - 'Beaver Is My Name' [Timeless]

I hear this as a lot more successful than 'In:Sanity'

I always wondered if the man pictured isn't Francis Haynes. That would be kinda funny for an album called "Beaver is my name".

I hadn't noticed that but I think you're correct. Looking at the back cover picture labelled Francis Haynes it's obviously the man on the front cover. How odd
