(I wish they'd issue some more Wright on CD.) MG It is good! Piano trio albums like this one were a dime a dozen in the early '60s! Very nice to relisten to them nowadays. I also have 'The Last Amen' on my to-play list! Fond memories of that one! Quote

A "fold-downs" is a monophonic mixing made from two channel stereo mix, not a real monophonic mixing indeed. That's interesting. I could never hear Bobby Hutcherson terrily well on my friend's stereo copy of "Let 'em roll", so I bought a mono version and could hear him much plainer. I can still hear him clearly on the (UK) CD reissue, which is stereo. MG Quote

porcy62 Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 (edited) Beethoven 9th Symphony, Solti, DECCA (one of the countless performance I tresure of this masterpiece) I know there are some late Ludwig Van's works more considered than that, musically speaking', quartets and piano sonanta's, but this work seems to me absolutely perfect, one of the few thing that make me pride to be a human being, like Homer's Odissey, Dostoijevskij's novel, Michelangelo's paintings, Anghor and Tikal temples, ...and KOB. We are capable of extraordinary and awful things. Edited April 11, 2006 by porcy62 Quote
