Clunky Posted January 17, 2018 Report Posted January 17, 2018 Johny Glasel-----Jazz session ------( ABC Paramount) trumpet/guitar/bass & drums. A very fine and undervalued session which has some real fire and grace. The little known Glasel sounds like a more virile version of Chet. Quote

It's a very nice date and one of Rudy's better 80's-era recordings. The bass sounds normal for a change. I wonder if this was done prior to him going all digital? Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted January 17, 2018 Report Posted January 17, 2018 Miles Davis - E.S.P. (Columbia). Two-eye Mono. Beat up, but still plays OK with some surface noise on side 1. Side 2 has a rather large scratch from the edge to the center but my Ortofon 3M Black cartridge plays it with only a little crackle. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted January 17, 2018 Report Posted January 17, 2018 Miles Davis - My Funny Valentine (Columbia) Two-eye mono again. I must've bought a pile of these somewhere along the line. I'm not usually a mono guy. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted January 17, 2018 Report Posted January 17, 2018 Teddy Edwards - Nothin' But The Truth! (Prestige). Blue label Van Gelder pressing. It's not my favorite Edwards date but I haven't found a lot of his Prestige dates on vinyl. The CDs are usually in the player for his catalog. Quote
