Ah, those budget labels that couldn't even muster TEN measly tracks on one LP. :D

I remember this always had me baffled when I came across them in my early collecting days - usually in the form of US pressings - to the best of my recollections ten sides really were the bottommost bottom of contents on European LPs, even in the budget price range.

McCoy Tyner - Sama Layuca (Milestone)

Probably my favorite McCoy record. :tup

John Coates, Jr. - In the Open Space (Omnisound, 2 LPs)
This gentle music is so subtle that it's easy to let it glide by without really hearing it. Even so, I find that it's wriggling its way into my consciousness and I keep coming back to it. ...The pastoral album cover photographs align with the music perfectly.

Hod O'Brien ----------Bits and pieces-------(Uptown)

1982 session finds O'Brien in a lush and romantic mood. I was expecting something more boppish but his playing here reminds me of Red Garland. Although he's a name I've known for years I'll need to dig out other sessions , such as the one with Warne Marsh to get my head around his style .
