Miles Davis----The New Miles Davis Quintet------(Top Rank Japan) deep groove ,

1960s ? Japanese release of Prestige material . I'm not clear then this was released but the DG on both sides , laminated thin card sleeve with flip backs makes it look much older than any other Japanese issue I have .

Found reference on eBay suggesting 1965 release date

The Jazz Doctors: Intensive Care (Cadillac)

Too bad this band didn't record more.

Was this recorded in the UK?   I saw the Jazz Doctors in London, I recall the white coats but that's about all.

Thanks Adrian, it must have been this line up that I saw.  I really have no recollection of Garrett and Charles.  That's a bit sad.

Stanko/ Makowicz Unit -------Klub Peytowy Polskiego....XIII. (Warsaw 1975)-----(Bialy Kruk Czarnego Krazka/Pronit)

It's one of those "White crow black disc" Polish releases with a generic cover. Adam Makowicz plays piano and some nice Fender Rhodes either solo, or trio/quartet with Stanko. It's hard to know exactly what the title is of this record !!

You were lucky to have heard them. Garrett's playing on that LP was a revelation for me.

Janos Gonda Sextet------Shaman song/Samanenek ---------(Pepita)

medieval chanting meets conga meets lectric piano meets modal jazz meets some weird sh!t....

Hopefully you get the idea. European through and through . More than 'interesting ' Hungarian LP from the late 70s.

MARTIAL SOLAL. POLJAZZ Z-SX-0696 [1979]

Rec. live December 10, 1978 during the Festival of Pianists in Kalisz (Poland)

I had to get a second copy of this. .The spindle hole wasn't centred correctly. It affected one side only and caused a wowing like distortion to the sound . My second copy was perfect.

The tone arm sways slightly sideways but there are no side noises. By the way the turntable is made in Scotland!
