Clunky Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 First spin this sunday morning  Frederick Roach ----All that's good-------(Blue Note) NYC stereo deep groove   about 6 six years ago picked this and Mo Greens please in mint condition. Both were immaculate NYC stereo copies with ear, etc. Covers really looked split new. The voices on this album work pretty well , giving a real gospel edge to the playing. Roach seems at his most adventurous. I'm no musician but I quite like Roach's ambition in his playing on his own BN dates. He's less impressive and sounds more 'rinky dink' on Ike Quebec's late BNs.  Next a NYC stereo which is in more obviously used condition but still sounds very nice  Horace Silver-----The Tokyo Blues-----(BN NYC stereo ear)  Quote

Royal Oak Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 I bought the Sheila Jordan album (on CD) about 20 years ago on the 4 star recommendation of Cook and Morton. Didn't really do it for me.  Quote
