clifford_thornton Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 Peter Brotzmann Trio - For Adolphe Sax - (first FMP edition, not the BRO unfortunately) - I never really got the Litweiler quote about this record as "For Albert Ayler, it should have been..." as this bears only a passing resemblance in instrumentation and occasional phrasing to Spiritual Unity. sidewinder Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 (edited) Miles Davis 'Someday My Prince Will Come' (Columbia 2-eye stereo). Very under-rated album with equally fine Hank Mobley. Edited January 27, 2006 by sidewinder Quote
clifford_thornton Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Peter Lemer - Local Colour - (ESP-Disk') great and rare British free jazz with an early appearance by John Surman, as well as George Khan and drummer Jon Hiseman (Colosseum). Lemer plays piano, and was also with the Spontaneous Music Ensemble for a brief period. Lemer reminds me of a more tonally ambiguous Don Freidman, FWIW. Quote

couw Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 Yeah, but I want an old Fantasy hoodie, too! that's just a plain grey hoodie, the Fantasy logo is printed over the pic. My Pablo LP doesn't have it. It does have the white banner that says "D I G I T A L"... The cool red vinyl makes up some for that though. Quote
