Probably only listened to it 3 times when I bought it. Haven't listened to it since. What a fool I've been. This is a magnificent record. I hate to use the word "perfect" to describe a jazz record because perfection isn't the goal in jazz necessarily. But everything about this record is right and good. Â The jazz stars were aligned that day. The jazz gods smiled upon this session. Â John, I've never heard this -- but I was excited to see that it was on the list to be reissued by Elemental in their Xanadu series. I'm looking forward to hearing it. Â Quote

jeffcrom Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 Jimmy Giuffre Quartet - In Person (Verve stereo). My least favorite of Giuffre's Verve albums, but I'm glad I listened today; I enjoyed it much more than my last spin. And Buell Neidlinder sounds great. Being at the bottom of a very distinguished list still means it's pretty good. Quote
jeffcrom Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 Jimmy Giuffre - Music for People, Birds, Butterflies & Mosquitoes (Choice). Hadn't spun this one for a long time. Hate the title, like the music. Quote
