Must check out my copy when I get home tonight haha..have not played it in literally 20 years or more but it's certainly a top drawer lineup on that record... clifford_thornton
Yeah, I have a red label mono that suffices. Have encountered others that did not. Pulled it out recently and it is always a musical delight.
Kevin Bresnahan
Pepper Adams & Barry Altschul - Be-Bop? (Musica Records - France). Adams, baritone sax; Jean-Pierre Debarbat, flute, soprano, alto, tenor, baritone sax; Siegfried Kessler, piano; Jacques Vidal, bass; Altschul, drums. Danny D'Imperio asked me about this date many years ago and it intrigued me so I picked up a copy from France a few years ago. Nothing earth-shattering here but it is an exciting date. Rinky-dink piano sound though that doesn't do it any favors. The other horn player doesn't do much for me. Good but not worth the ~$35 I paid but I'm a sucker for anything with Pepper on it. clifford_thornton
Kinda feel the same way about that record, but it's nice enough and I'm glad to have a copy.

soulpope
Billy Harper, Knowledge of Self (Denon). A recent purchase and the first Harper leader date I've picked up. There's a lot of love for Billy Harper on this board and I can see why--a great one.good stuff, to my knowledge never was reissued as CD .... Local Fair sounds like a precursor to Sergey Kuryokhin's Pop Mechanics projects in the 1980s and '90s.
clifford_thornton
Yeah, pretty nutty album. I haven't listened to it in years (not that that has any bearing on quality - just time and priorities).

Sounding good and mintyyeah, that's a neat record - glad to have a copy as well. I think it was quite cheap from Dusty Groove (they usually mark down the more 'out' stuff). Also, apparently this exists: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/clovisbordeaux
