sidewinder
Nice one! Though I think I've blathered on before about how the programming of the "Paris Suite" is kinda out of order... It's an interesting comparison with the OJC vinyl copy that I also have. The Esquire has the 'fuller body', which suits the Prestiges well. 'RVG' in the runout too. Track listing, their order and the sleeve notes look to be the same as the New Jazz issue. Cover pic is different though, often the case with Esquires. Edited January 17, 2006 by sidewinder

clifford_thornton
I forgot all about this one: Gato Barbieri and Dollar Brand - Confluence - Intercord Freedom (not the Fonorama, unfortunately). Pretty nuts, in fact, more nuts than I remember the last time I listened to it, about eight years ago most likely...

Marsh is hardly in evidence but the album works very well. There are a few sealed copies of this "Bird & Dizzy, a musical tribute"... I found one just 1 year ago. Interesting album, true bebop violinist, Ko-ko and Groovin' high are just "tours de force'... (I'm writing his biography!) Memorable appearance of Warne Marsh. Memorable appearance of Warne Marsh. sorry for getting the name of the album wrong . Sadly for a Marshophile the rear cover incorrectly credits Marsh as appearing on one or two tracks which do not feature him at all, even in the ensemble. Good album none the less and definately worth the £5 I paid. Bargain IMO Edited January 20, 2006 by Clunky
