The Magnificent Goldberg Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Bill Hardman - Politely - Muse MG one of the excellent "late" Bill Hardman outings !! Yeah, I love this one and 'Home' but I'm not so keen on 'Focus'; that sounds too much like a jazz record. MG Quote

The Magnificent Goldberg Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Right now Earl Hines & Stephane Grappelli - The giants - Black Lion This music is so very graceful, it's hard to believe that people can manage to stand up after playing it. MG Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Pepper Adams/ Barry Altschul -----------Be-Bop?----------(musica) Two As from different eras. That was a hard one to find. Quote
Clunky Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Ronnie Ross --------Double Event --------(parlophone ) Decent hard (ish) bop date. Recorded hot in June 1958 with Andy White on drums. The same (I think) Weegie White was of course the first or second fifth Beatle replacing the laconic Starr on one version of "Love me do". Cleopatra's needle this isn't but it's well worth hearing. Clunky Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Next up Frank Foster/ Elmo Hope------------Wail Frank wail---------( Esquire) Fine bop date with Art Taylor and Freeman Lee ( about whom I know little ) can't post the cover of this Esquire but it's mega dull- just yellow !! Music is great though. Another solid RVG recording Quote

Clunky Posted October 11, 2014 Report Posted October 11, 2014 Whitey Mitchell--------Get those elephants out'a here---------( MGM) UK single sided white label test pressings, cover consists of a large manilla envelope with the rear cover from the UK edition of the album taped to one side. Music is solid enough, nothing homemade about it, Quote
