Man, you can dance to this stuff!

I should dust off my "joggers and smoggers" 2LP!

Have not played the EX in ages...I remember I had some of their earlier stuff as a young man but at the time I preferred the Dog Faced Hermans.

Now playing:

Steve Reid "rhythmatism" (mustevic, USA)

TOKK ensemble Tokyo "music for living process" (RCA, Japan). I love this album so much...sublime contemporary classical that is very experimental with the likes of Takehisa Kosugi and Toshi Ichiyanagi. Not to mention the brilliant percussion of Yasumori Yamaguchi and the brilliant harp performance by Ayako Shinozaki.

I have that piece on an Edition RZ LP although I believe it's a different performance. Will have to try and find this.

Just checked - looks like it's the same performance.

I have that same RZ lp and it's a different performance. The RZ is a live 1973 performance without Kosugi and Ichiyanagi.

The TOKK lp is a 1975 studio recording featuring Kosugi on electric violin and Ichiyanagi himself along with the other members.

a few more sides I came across yesterday.

Marion Brown ----Soul Eyes-----(Baystate) Japan

Anthony Braxton----Live at Moers Festival----(Ring) Germany

PJJ is on the Brown and he's not too heavy handed, a fine hardbop date. The Braxton is excellent , not sure if this has had a CD release.

That Braxton is indeed very good - I don[t think there is a CD.

The Brown's on my 'get around to it one day' list

Aha. Well hey, now I can add another thing to the ol' wants list!

Sounds cool.

Clunky, those are nice finds! Is the Braxton a gatefold, or in a box?

The Orchestra set (3LP) is in a box, the quartets are in a gatefold sleeve. Haven't spun either of those in years but I remember them being quite good.
