Leeway Posted January 25, 2014 Report Posted January 25, 2014 Saw this listed over in Tom in RI's sale thread and prompted me to play it. It's real good! LIVING ON THE EDGE- Dewey Redman Quartet: Dewey Redman (as, ts), Geri Allen (p), Cameron Brown (b), and Eddie Moore (d). Black Saint LP. 1989. Quote

jeffcrom Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 Tabby Thomas - Rockin' With the Blues (Maison de Soul). As far as I can tell, this album came out on Tabby's own Blue Beat label in 1984, and on Maison de Soul a year later. The backing band includes Henry Gray and a very young Chris Thomas King. Quote

Leeway Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) FANCY FREE - Donald Byrd. Blue Note Liberty pressing, "Van Gelder" in the dead wax, "audition copy" stamped on back. A very serviceable copy plucked from the dollar bin. Cool and funky stuff. Duke Pearson on the electric piano for the first time. Edited January 26, 2014 by Leeway Quote

Clunky Posted January 26, 2014 Report Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) Circle----Paris Concert----(ECM) Triples my Corea holdings by purchasing this and Return to Forever LPs yesterday. Very different groups to say the least. This one is good enough to make me consider re-engage with Braxton's music. Paris Concert comes across as a real group effort. Kevin Bresnahan Posted January 27, 2014 Report Posted January 27, 2014 Houston Person - Wild Flower (Muse). I bought this for the cover and the fact that it had "Van Gelder" in the deadwax. The cover is the best part. Quote
