Clunky Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 Gordon Beck - Seven Steps to Evans - MPS Nice line up doesn't disappoint. Much more fiery than an Evans session ever was just goes to show how good/adaptable some of his compositions are. Quote
Homefromtheforest Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 I love that Gordon Beck album - an incredible lineup...always a delight to hear Kenny Wheeler and Tony Oxley! I have a DVD from this group too which is nice... Quote

Leeway Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) @ Cactus Bob, I dig the Altec! Listened to this after a long while and dug the cool groove. Edited November 1, 2013 by Leeway Quote
clifford_thornton Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Charles Tolliver------ The Ringer-----(Polydor UK) Never seen this original incarnation before. Cool! Yeah, for some stupid reason I passed on it at $20 more than a decade ago feeling all right with my thin and crusty-looking US pressing. Upgraded to a Japanese issue (with a nice cover by Kazuyoshi Nomachi) some years back but still haven't scored the UK version. Quote
Cactus Bob Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 @ Cactus Bob, I dig the Altec! Thanks, they got it right on these. They really fill the room with great sound, Quote
paul secor Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 (edited) Blue Mitchell: Out of the Blue (Riverside/Alto) Blue Mitchell and the rhythm section play very well on this record. Benny Golson plays magnificently. Edited November 2, 2013 by paul secor Quote
