Blind Alfred Reed, How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live? lp on Rounder, number 1001. Must have been an early one for Rounder.

There'll be no distinction there, Beware, Why do you bob your hair girls?, Always lift him up and never knock him down. Wow! Standouts!

I have Mr. Reed's "Fate of Chris Lively and Wife" on a Victor 78, with the West Virginia Night Owls (of which he was a member) on the other side. Good stuff.

Wow Jeff! Reminds me to check Joe Bussard's catalog. Wonder if he has any of those Night Owl sides, including the one you mention. Strange that I have never sought out his Reed stuff, though I assume he must have some.

Is Chris Lively and Wife a murder song? What's the theme?

Michel Portal - Our Meanings and Our Feelings - (Pathe, FR)

Love that record...got a stone mint copy of that myself...great album.

Well thanks to a friend who came out and helped me install a turntable wall shelf for my ultra sensitive systemdek IIx turntable I am finally up and running with my stereo in my new place. Still have not unpacked even half of my collection yet but tonight I am spinning a few new arrivals that came in the mail these past few weeks:

Masura Imada "green caterpillar" (three blind mice, Japan)

Kosuke Mine "first" (Philips, Japan...with Larry Ridley on bass!)

And one record thats been in the collection for a while..

Miles Davis "milestones" (Columbia 6 eye mono..a great sounding mint copy)

Gary Burton - Passengers (ECM). Picked an old college-days favorite for my first vinyl in nearly two weeks. Nice to have my amplifier back.

Glad that you're back at full listening strength!
