clifford_thornton Posted July 5, 2013 Report Posted July 5, 2013 Tonight's listening: Speed Limit "s/t" (chant du monde, France) Full Moon Ensemble "crowded with loneliness" (superfly reissue on 180gm vinyl, France...just got this today and box looked a bit bent out of shape and, of course, vinyl has a big edge warp....moments like this make me hate vinyl) I generally hate new vinyl. That Full Moon LP has been on my wants list for well over a decade. How's Speed Limit? That's a Jef Seffer thing, right? Quote
Homefromtheforest Posted July 5, 2013 Report Posted July 5, 2013 Yeah new vinyl seems quite problematic, doesn't it? I really like the Speed Limit...sorta electric jazz/prog with cool percussion...recorded really well too...yes Jeff Seffer is on it...better then the Zao records I think Quote

Listened to it late last night. My only excuse is that it's 5 a.m. here and I guess I'm not awake yet. Edited July 6, 2013 by paul secor Quote

clifford_thornton Posted July 6, 2013 Report Posted July 6, 2013 I thought it was spread out over a couple different CDs, but I could be wrong. Now: The Pentangle - s/t- (Reprise, CAN) Quote

I thought it was spread out over a couple different CDs, but I could be wrong. Part of it is on the CD reissue of Saxophone Special, but I think that's all that's out there on CD. The Magnificent Goldberg Posted July 6, 2013 Report Posted July 6, 2013 A bash at my new Xalam LPs Goree - Celluloid Apartheid - Encore MG Just ordered both albums. They're both very good - not quite so Mbalax-oriented as later stuff of theirs I've heard - more jazz-oriented. MG Quote
