Tonight's listening:

Speed Limit "s/t" (chant du monde, France)

Full Moon Ensemble "crowded with loneliness" (superfly reissue on 180gm vinyl, France...just got this today and box looked a bit bent out of shape and, of course, vinyl has a big edge warp....moments like this make me hate vinyl)

I generally hate new vinyl. That Full Moon LP has been on my wants list for well over a decade. How's Speed Limit? That's a Jef Seffer thing, right?

Hodges/Ellington: Back to Back

Roy Eldridge almosts steals the show on this recording.

Harry Edison?

You're right. Listened to it late last night. My only excuse is that it's 5 a.m. here and I guess I'm not awake yet.

Steve Lacy - The Crust - (Emanem, UK)

A good one, with Derek Bailey in the band - and not available in full on CD.

I thought it was spread out over a couple different CDs, but I could be wrong.

Part of it is on the CD reissue of Saxophone Special, but I think that's all that's out there on CD. Edited by jeffcrom
