DUKE PEARSON- it could only happen with you

1st of all this lp is audiophile quality, this lp sound quality is on par with Victor Feltman- Secret of the Andes. rvg recorded, but non rvg stamped. rvg, i think, made this sound like one of his CTI records, it sounds incredible, very clear sound, its not all compressed and maxed out like some art blakey bluenote, its almost light a straight pass of the master tape.

has this ever been issued on cd, wasnt there a duke pearson box set at some point? well i cant believe it never got an early stand alone issue, its a great, modern work, it really one of pearsons most cutting edge projects. so blessed i finally found a copy of this, but i never expected the SQ to be so good

Lars Gullin------The EMI years 1964-1976-------(EMI Sweden) LP4 = Jazz Amour Affair

side one Lars plus orchestra , ambitious for sure , may need me some time to appreciate this fully. Despite the strings swooping in occasionally it's in no way lush, only once it's got going properly does Lars get to solo and then it all seems worth it. Interesting.
