Teasing the Korean
It's just come out on CD here in the UK. Look out also for the one by the 'Indo Jazzmen' on Saga. Those MFP albums were like K-Tel - you used to be able to get them in Woolworths and the like for about £0.50 in the late 60s/early 80s. Saga, Studio 2 etc were others. Lots of cheesy 'Top of the Pops' cover compilations (worth buying just for the babes on the front covers). I'll look for both! Yes, I'm familiar with the MFP label - I have some cheapo Beach Boys compilations on MFP from a period in which lots of their stuff was out of print in the US. And I have some Studio Two albums, such as Mandingo and "Space Experience." Thanks!
Teasing the Korean
Dustygroove carries a CD reissue of "Curried Jazz!" Looks like that Saga album fetches high prices on eBay - high for me at least!

six string
Last night I was spinning my latest finds. Charles Sullivan's Genesis (Inner City) Woody Shaw's Rosewood (CBS wlp) Art Pepper's Friday Night at the VV (Contemporary) Not a dud track on any of them. porcy62
The Plastic Ono Band - LIVE PEACE IN TORONTO 1969 - Apple I am still asking myself: why did Mark David Chapman shot John instead of Yoko? The side two of the record is the evidence that Chapman was definitely crazy, you don't need any psychiatric survey in the court, just a brief spinning of Side two. MFP issued a very nice Bossa Nova LP by a British tenor player called Duncan Lamont, that a friend of mine used to have. Nice bird in a red dress on the cover, too. They also issued the best compilation of early Jr Walker I've ever come across. Although it was called "Shotgun", it wasn't the same as the real "Shotgun" LP - it was almost all instrumental. Shannon Dickey
Sabir Mateen W/ Daniel Carter & Andrew Barker "Not on Earth...In Your Soul" on Qbico. Can't get enough Mateen, and this live date from 2002, sounds fine. I am NOT an audiophile. Sure, Qbico LPs are not always of the highest quality, but the love and care that go's into each LP is so great and unique. Been spinning this a lot. Hell, only 300 copies (I think) and NO cd issue.
