Well are such pictures art or not? Could be a new thread? Similar attitude on the Sam Haskins side at Instagram?? What do you say to my own "creation"? ;-]] Edited March 18 by jazzcorner Quote

I don't get what that has to do with my comment. I was not commenting about the nudity. I was commenting that an album titled "All Smiles" has a woman clearly not smiling. And we all know why that thread was pulled. It got out of hand and people wouldn't reign it in. Quote

I wasn't cranky when I posted. Maybe now I am. Didn't mean to offend you. I'm almost certain that cover was in the deleted thread. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 Just now, jlhoots said: Never mind. I wasn't cranky when I posted. Maybe now I am. Didn't mean to offend you. I'm almost certain that cover was in the deleted thread. The last few batch of covers posted to that "Sexiest Covers" thread were not anything like "All Smiles". They were soft core porn shots from Jane Birkin LPs - cover shots that they don't even show on discogs.com. On top of that, as I understand it, the mods had to delete a bunch more like these earlier. If that thread hadn't gone that route, who knows if it would have been dumped? In the end, moderating it became a PIA and it wasn't worth the hassle. And I would note that neither Jim S nor I deleted the unmodified cover of "All Smiles" posted in this thread. Quote
JSngry Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 FWIW, That thread was "hidden" by ownership, not deleted. At least initially. No idea what it's status is today. I think? But yes, it did get to be a PITA. But as always, life goes on. Quote

All Smiles is a strong record; the cover never did anything for me either way. Quote
Gheorghe Posted Thursday at 05:27 PM Report Posted Thursday at 05:27 PM Nice old stuff. But I must prefer I like more his later work. But.....the drummer here is very very fine. Ayler still sounds a bit like Rollins. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted Thursday at 06:17 PM Report Posted Thursday at 06:17 PM Nice. I have that as a Japanese DIW of the Bird Notes original. Interesting record, though the Debut/Fontana sides are, for me, where things really get going. Quote
