hopkins Posted November 22, 2024 Report Posted November 22, 2024 (edited) The digital version of this album has Sarah's voice on the left channel only - the mono LP is more relaxing to listen to. My cat chose to demonstrate her vocal range while I was recording this. Edited November 22, 2024 by hopkins Quote
clifford_thornton Posted November 22, 2024 Report Posted November 22, 2024 Aww. From the meows I could tell s/he wanted the "up-up." What a sweet kitty. Quote

Did Pell ever record for Contemporary? No they didnt but it is more or less plagiatism (we see often also with other labels) what they did in the beginning of their existance (issueing long forgotten vinyls) Edited November 24, 2024 by jazzcorner more text Quote

Rabshakeh Posted November 24, 2024 Report Posted November 24, 2024 Joe McPhee - Tenor Apparently a new issue. OTO had a couple of early McPhees, so I picked up this favourite. I don't know whether it is the start of a wider vinyl reissue series at legacy Hat. Quote

We could hope for a series, but I think it's more because of Joe McPhee this get's reissued. The label has an affiliation with him. Some Steve Lacy or Cecil Taylor reissues would be very nice Quote

Teasing the Korean Posted November 24, 2024 Report Posted November 24, 2024 (edited) Pete Rugolo - Rhythm Meets Rugolo (Mercury, mono) Collects tracks originally released on For Hi-Fi Bugs and Out on a Limb. I have a stereo copy of this also. The mono sounds very different, as it used close-miking, whereas the stereo used overhead miking. Edited November 24, 2024 by Teasing the Korean Quote
