Pim Posted August 24 Report Posted August 24 Now this is what I’d call a forgotten classic. It has that Tapscott sound all over it and what a great band. Quote

Teasing the Korean Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 Les Baxter - Moog Rock (GNP Crescendo) Featuring Paul Beaver on the Moog. Classical compositions played by a quintet of Moog, novachord, drums, Fender bass, and Latin percussion. Quote
Teasing the Korean Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 Martin Denny - Exotic Moog (Liberty) From his ghost period, although he allegedly had some input into this one. Quote
Teasing the Korean Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 Various - 2001/Aniara (Columbia) Featuring Moog interludes by Morton Subotnik. Aniara is an instrumental suite from Blomdahl's space opera, using orchestra plus electronics. Quote
Teasing the Korean Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 Nat "King" Cole - Welcome to the Club (Capitol, stereo) with Dave Cavanaugh This is maybe the worst stereo I've heard on a Capitol vocal LP from this period. Nat is in one speaker with a few instruments. Most of the band is in the other. Guessing this sounds a lot better in mono. Quote
JSngry Posted August 26 Report Posted August 26 It does, and it's a really good record that way. That's the one with the Basie band, right? Quote

Ken Dryden Posted August 26 Report Posted August 26 One of 21 vintage LPs I bought in a local store yesterday, all but one was under $4. Somebody must have cleaned out their father's or husband's collection. Quote

If I have the quiet moments to listen to music, I prefer not to get up to turn the LP´s . But the music must be fantastic. For listening, I rarely listen to strictly straight ahead these times. Okay, if it is really pushed like VSOP or stuff like that, but the most 50´s records and the straight ahaed 60´s records remain in the shelves....., I mean I like to figure out things now, seldom hear music just to relax......
