I saw the lineup for this date and thought, "Wow, this is going to be great". But it wasn't really that great. I was pretty disappointed, to be honest.

More than any of his other albums, this is the one where Gary seemed to deliberately blend his jazz and pop proclivities.  But he has better jazz albums and better pop albums.

Turns out my turntable was okay after all. I am the greatest of the technoidiots.

Nice album, good news.

I have a turntable technoidiot story to end all others but I'm not sharing it in public

NP:

The Complete Pacific Jazz And Capitol Recordings Of The Original Gerry Mulligan Quartet And Tentette With Chet Baker

This is just a fabulous collection I can't believe I left it so long to properly acquaint myself with this music

Not sure if the art work on some of the early Liberty jazz LPs have gotten full props for being as strange as they were.

Well I bought the Item for the music. However find the coverart also interesting and modern for that time when it was released. Remembers me on the various "West Coast " coverart series (Pacific Jazz a.o.)

Excellent Thelonious Monk homage ....

It really is. I think I remember that I have bought it very shortly after Monk´s death. I have it on one of my USB sticks in the car.
