sidewinder Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 (edited) Another decent find for a couple of quid. Even has Steve Voce’s Jazz Journal review included as an insert so a promo copy I guess. Lots of early 80s hype in the sleeve notes emphasising that this is a ‘Digital’ session. Jeez ! Seen this Telarc LP millions of times but never had a copy. Edited February 8, 2023 by sidewinder Quote
HutchFan Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 David Friedman - Of The Wind's Eye (Enja, 1981) Quote
sidewinder Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 (edited) Another new one. Bergenfield DG mono pressing. A bit neglected but sounding great after a wash. Intensive clean - sounds fabulous, in typical RVG fashion ! Edited February 8, 2023 by sidewinder Quote
Dub Modal Posted February 8, 2023 Report Posted February 8, 2023 Milt's The Prophet Speaks. Good album Quote

I love hearing David Friedman and Daniel Humair together. If you dig Of the Wind's Eye, you might also want to investigate Triple Hip Trip. It features the same lineup, minus Jane Ira Bloom. Quote

I love vibes so not too sure why Friedman has largely passed me by Just realised the Tidal one is not 'Of The Wind's Eye' but 'Shades Of Change' with Geri Allen which is a pretty good thing as it stands Quote

clifford_thornton Posted February 9, 2023 Report Posted February 9, 2023 That record in particular must have gotten pretty good distribution stateside (not just as an Inner City). It was everywhere at one point. Quote

Superb playing by Taft Jordan in particular. 👍 Appreciating this one - Thad had just left but there were some nice new arrangements by him on this one. Edited February 10, 2023 by sidewinder Quote
