It's on the way! What is the story on Luba Raushiek? That's a new name for me. Firstly, the YouTube stuff was posted by Milton Suggs Jr, not the bass player on the record. Luba was a friendly spirit who popped up once in a while. Never knew his history. Quote

Rabshakeh Posted July 31, 2021 Report Posted July 31, 2021 Just finished with the Creative Construction Company's Muhal (as it is called on my version). Despite being a huge fan of everyone involved, I'm never sure whether I am in love with this one. In my opinion, it is a bit transitional for everyone involved. Quote

ghost of miles Posted July 31, 2021 Report Posted July 31, 2021 I've since picked up the recent CD reissue of this as well (initially the label said they were doing only vinyl), but I'm spinning the LP in honor of the friend who waited in line with me for this on Record Store Day in 2017. He and his family are moving away to Texas tomorrow. Safe and interesting travels always, Sam: Quote
Rabshakeh Posted July 31, 2021 Report Posted July 31, 2021 George Lewis (the other George Lewis) and Douglas Ewart - Jila-save! Mon.-the Imaginary Suite (Black Saint, 1979) A long time favourite of mine that seems to belong to a musical genre all of its own. Quote

My record cot here today, and a lady named "Barbara" signed here name twice on the front cover, once in sharpie (and verylarge!), and then again in reglar inkpen in smaller, normal size writing. This was Barbara's record, y'all, BARBARA's record! Also learned on the back cover that Tommy Jones was credited as producer, and again I ask...has the Madman's story every been fully told? Is it even known? Liner notes are by Jim Partee...is that a real names, especially considering that the label is Erect Records? Anyway, flayva, y'all, FLAY-VAH! Quote
