Next, Ian Carr. I notice how much my ow musical ideas were inspired by this as I have listened to it many, many times. But as then, I find the themes are rather artficiial, honed in long sessions at the keyboard figuring out chord changes and melodic figurations. German critic Ulrich Ohlshausen's comment was that the Britisj jazzrock bands played that style better than Miles Davis himself. Oh well .......

Is that the original Vertigo? If so, hang on to it, it is quite a collectible item in 1st press.

Great cover art ! Ian Carr/Nucleus albums probably sold even more copies on the continent than they did here.

I had a closer look - indeed, looks like a first generation pressing, imported from the UK. I think I even remember the shop where I bought it.

An Epic undertaking!

I checked and I could keep going--I have 7 LPs on Epic--Ruby Braff, Wild Bill Davis at Birdland, Earl Hines Trio and Soundtrack to All Night Long.

Quad, State Fair, Tent, Sonny Sharrock, Fathead, have flashbacks of all of that EVRY time I see this record.

And I don't mind, not at all!

This band played the State Fair of Texas in Fair Park?

Nah, there was a big tent set up to demo quad sound. Probably some hi-fi dealer, you know how big that used to be back then. Total State Fair concept, sell it at the fair, lol.

That was their demo record of choice, on an 8-Track no less, IIRC. It played in a loop for hours on end.

Go figure THAT.

I have an old copy of that - have the feeling that it is on the ‘GI Records’ label.

I have a Japanese original on 'Victor'.

My "new" LP is a Japanese Victor too.  Found it for a reasonable price on discogs -- in the U.S., so no big shipping fees either.

It was one of the very first CDs I ever bought - in the long box. Liked it so much that I eventually bought the vinyl !
