I'm tempted with the LP version of that one. good heavy vinyl, its pretty quiet, or quiet enough-- definitely a great piece I have the CD version of this. The source is a cassette tape from the soundboard. Not the best sound but more than passable. Fine performances as you would expect from these individuals. A worthy purchase for fans of Red. Quote

Clunky Posted March 22, 2015 Report Posted March 22, 2015 (edited) Johnny Glasel--------Jazz session------(ABC Paramount) DG Spiritely playing by Glasel with Dick Garcia on guitar on the majority of tracks. No piano ,so the whole session feels light and nimble. There's even an early cover (1956) of Monk's "Ruby my dear". Lovely set all round. Edited March 22, 2015 by Clunky Quote

Clunky Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 AEC---------Live in Japan-----(DIW) single LP. I think the CD released added more material . This session seems more conventional jazzy than some . Beautiful none the less. Quote

Clunky Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 Lester Bowie - African Children [Horo] can't seem to leave AACM alone at the moment Know what you mean, that's the effect of threads here. I'm scurrying to my collection to dust of various items. AACM as I have noted elsewhere seems to provide endless fascination. Earlier I was playing Urban Bushmen which was great. I think I've played the entirety of one AEC album everyday over the past week. Quote
