I've been on the fence for months. I've heard the great reviews. I'm confident that I'll enjoy the music. But now something is different...

I heard Warne Marsh's "All Music" yesterday for the first time. I'm blown away. Incredible. Now I want the set more than before.

The only reason I've hesitated is because I'm unsure about Lee Konitz. His recent stuff hasn't done much for me. But I've always enjoyed his older stuff, especially his playing on Birth of the Cool.

But with this countdown to the sell-out, its weighing more and more on my mind. I really want the set. I just need some encouragement.

Someone push me over the edge on the Tristano/Konitz/Marsh Mosaic set! Tell me how great this set is so I can place my order without guilt! Arrrrgh!!!! Damn jazz, I wish I didn't love it so much!!!

Sal,

I got the set and haven't even listened to it yet, but think of it this way: if you buy the set and you really like it, you've made a great purchase and you're a happy man. If you buy the set and it's not your cup of tea, hold onto it for a few months and sell it on Ebay for a nice profit, then use the $ to buy stuff that IS your cup of tea. It's a win-win situation.

Viewed another way, if you DON'T buy it, it will sell out soon, never to return, and you may find yourself on Ebay trying to snag one set at a higher price.

My decision to buy the TKM set came about the exact same way as your thought process. I bought 'All Music'(That damn Nessa and his quality product :w ), and it struck me, and I had nothing else by Marsh and no Tristano, so I went for it.

Scott tells me that this set may have sold out over night via Internet orders so your order may not get in. However, if you did miss out, he does have a partial of discs 1-3 ($48) with box & booklet.

Later,

Kevin

I hope that's not the case! I placed a phone order because I knew they must have been running extremely low and wanted to confirm it in person. The lady told me that they had it in stock, and that it will ship today. We'll see.......

You'd think a live person on the telephone would know, wouldn't ya? Man, I hope.

I wonder, does the Mosaic website not update itself when the last set sells? Even if it's some time in the night? I don't know, just wondering...

Sal,

You won't regret it. I was on the fence like you and in fact I even said I wasn't going to get it. I'm glad I changed my mind. Even if you can only get a partial set, that will still be some great music.
