How Dorothy Ashby Made The Harp Swing Great to see such high-profile media attention being paid to Ashby, prompted primarily by the new box set (I’m still hoping, no doubt in vain, for an eventual CD version.) When I did an Ashby Night Lights show a few years back it was difficult to dig up much information about her (Sally Placksin’s American Women In Jazz proved to be the best source), but I’ve seen her name pop up more and more in recent years.
