Last week's Night Lights show--an attempt to fill out the story of the so-called "Bad Day At Black Rock," in which Ornette Coleman, Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, and Charles Mingus were all supposedly dropped from the label in a single day--now up for online listening: The Great Columbia Jazz Purge: Coleman, Evans, Jarrett and Mingus Some more information and links at the bottom of the post, including a long quote from Clive Davis included in Chris Albertson's 1971 Saturday Review article about Miles Davis.

A new Night Lights show up for online listening, focusing on Jarrett's early years as a leader and with Art Blakey, Charles Lloyd, and Miles Davis: http://indianapublicmedia.org/nightlights/birth-early-keith-jarrett/ We have a new audio format, too--no more Real Audio, going forward.

My review of Jarrett's "After The Fall" ahead of next Friday's release. It's a terrific album of Jarrett's first public trio performance after his two year battle with Chronic fatigue syndrome or SEID. It contains a number of classic tunes never featured on a Standards Trio album such as "Doxy", "Moment's Notice" and "One For Majid". Enjoy. http://bit.ly/2F21dTU
