  1. Tal Farlow, disc 5. Just received my Mobley set. What a great way to start the weekend!!
  2. I like the sleeve of these albums and the face of the guy in the background!
  3. I own volume 1 and 2 (JRVGs) and they are both very good. This has nothing to do with the Messengers music or anything else Blakey recorded with Blue Note but this is very good music.
  4. My favourite is not in the list: 'The Kicker'.
  5. Since Mr Clark does not play on Remembering, it is not in the quartet set. It was released as Standards. The other (first on) King releases with Clark were Gooden's Corner and Oleo. I also want to point out Alfred Lion did not produce Night of the Cookers, though he did release the material. Trompeta Toccata is a gem. Thanks for the info on the Sonny Clark albums. I did not know where to find these Grant Green recordings. Some more money spent very soon!
  6. The night of the Cookers is for me the worst Blue Note CD in my Blue Note collection, and by far! Apart from the sleeve there is nothing I like about this album!
  7. No problem. This thread can be either deleted or stopped. Either will do me.I don't expect any further development in my case.
  8. Bon anniversaire Mike.
  9. No. I haven't heard from pryan.
  10. Thanks. So do I and that is all I am asking for.
  11. Well, I have never sold anything here so could you please answer my PMs? There is nothing personal here. It does make sense to let other board members know things like these. This thread would not exist if everything had been done the way they should be done.
  12. +1 I agreed to buy Pryan's Mosaic Woody Shaw set on February 7th. As I live in Europe, pryan needed to check the cost of shipping. He got back to me on February 9th to tell me he hadn't checked with the post office yet.Since then and despite having PMed him three times I haven't heard from pryan. He has posted on a few threads in the last few days but he has ignored my PMs. Not exactly the kind of transactions I would expect to have with fellow board members. I have bought a lot of stuff recently from different board members and it has always been smooth and easy. Not the kind of stuff I enjoy posting here but I assume other members need to know about things like these
  13. I just saw that tonight. That's fuckin' unbelievable esp. since most of the music is otherwise available in cd. I have the Grant Green 'The complete Quartets with Sonny Clark' BN released in 1997. Does that really cover all the stuff of the Mosaic set? Could anybody post the discography of this Mosaic set? $510 for this set is even more than madness!
  14. I don't have any Mosaic Select only MD sets. What do they look like? On the mosaic website they look like a solid thick box containing 3 jewel cases, on the Amazon UK website and on ebay (Don Pullen), they look like LP sleeves. Any help?
  15. Happy birthay to the two of you!!
  16. Can't remember. I wasn't born yet!
  17. Pink Floyd!!!!!!
  18. email answered.
  19. Yousonofabitch!!! I was only gonna offer $89.95.
  20. I am interested in buying but I honestly don't like the 'Make me an offer business'. If you want to sell it this way, I think you should go the ebay way. Nothing personal and I may be the only one to think this way but ...... ' C'est comme ca. $90 for me as I don't want to keep my offer secret.

    Feb 15 RVGs

I have just listened to True Blue and I love how it sounds. I did not buy it as I am going to hold on to my JRVG version but it is great stuff. The inserts and the comments are interesting too. I haven't seen the new 'Basra' yet though.PS: It HAS the copy protection.
  22. Thanks to both of you.I have always been put off by the 93% positive feedback but I will give it a go the next time a good offer comes up.
  23. I am listening to the third disc now and I am loving every second of it. $80!! A bargain . I paid a bit more for mine as I did not trust Caiman. I might next time..... I said $80 EXTRA for a US numbered set. The European set from Caiman cost me $50.58 including shipping. I'm listening to Disc 3 now, also (Stompin' at the Savoy). This is an even better bargain then! Do Caiman sell any other Mosaic sets at such good price? At that price I'd find it easier to trust them. Can't find their website!

  25. I may be wrong buy it seems that all the Davis sets are only available on LPs. Does anybody know why none of the Miles Davis sets is available on CDs?
