  1. I bought the Impulse studio last week and I have been listening to it since. Although it is not complete, I highly recommend it. I prefer it to the Village Vanguard.
  2. Very likely. There was only one left when I placed my order.
  3. Ordered both! Thanks for the info, Tjobbe.
  4. And the "Contemporary Records Story" for 15. Fantastic - that one has eluded me for years (well...2). Thanks ! Received my Rollins and Gordon Prestige boxes today. Thanks for your help, Bob. I hope the Coltrane and the Montgomery sets will reappear soon. Have they sold out and reappeared several times? I am furious at myself for having missed these two.
  5. $163!! Is there anything on this set that is OOP?
  6. After Andrew Hill, it is now the Sam Rivers' performance that is cancelled. The Pizza Express website has now Trudy Kerr to play there on the 5th and 6th of May. What a disappointment!
  7. You have listed it as 'MD2 172' instead of MD3.
  8. Thanks for the info. I have just phoned too and the lady at the box office does not seem to know much. She did not completely rule out Andrew Hill on the 3rd or 4th but it seems very unlikely. Tickets for Sam Rivers will go on sale on Friday. Can't wait to see Sam again.
  9. I have to agree with Jim. I always get RVGs in the UK for a bit less than $9 even when they are not on special offer.
  10. Thanks for this! I will definitely be there. The last big BN name I saw was Sam Rivers in Bath. A lovely venue for a great performance with Sam playing the sax, the flute and the ..... piano. (not at once though!) I have just phoned Pizza Express to book my tickets, but they will go on sale the end of next week! The person I spoke to was aware of the confusion with Sam Rivers but she could not confirm who would be playing there on the 5th and the 6th. May 5th is my birthday! I know where I will be to celebrate.......
  11. Thanks for your your help Jim! . And yes, I mean with electric guitar for the bossa/latin stuff.
  12. Thank you all for your answers. I have already got most of the BN stuff (Grant Green, Burrell) and most of Wes Montgomery albums too. I would like to explore the OJC, Prestige and Verve catalogues from 1955 to 1970. I have the Tal Farlow Mosaic set too. Any bossa nova or latin music would interest me as well.
  13. I'd like to fill a few gaps in my collection and I'd like to buy a few electric guitar albums. (ideally quartets or quintets) Any suggestions? Where should I start? Thanks for your help.
  14. No risk whatsoever. Safe purchase Shaft. One of my favourite Mosaic sets!
  15. The 1st LP of the Mosaic set.
  16. Very sad news. He made me love jazz as much as I do. R.I.P. Jackie
  17. Have you received my PM and email? My PM box doesn't seem to be working properly at the minute, but the PM seems to have been sent fine.
  18. PM sent about the Django!
  19. PM sent for the 3 mini LPs.
  20. The last non Miles Davis Mosaic LP set (apart from the Monk/Coltrane) is now in the last chance category. I am sitting on the fence for this one. I have the CD set and I have been considering buying the Lp version for quite some time now. Is it worth pulling the trigger for these LPs? How does the Lp version compare with the CDs?
  21. Up. I found the Thad Jones set.
  22. No worries,Shane! I still live in hope. I haven't been very successfull so far.
  23. Happy birthday!
  24. I would try to fly to Paris and take the train to Munich. It should be much cheaper. And Paris is well worth a visit!!
